With the Betfred Championship season heading towards the business end, here is a look at what happened in Round 21.
The action started on Friday evening with two home wins.
Widnes Vikings brushed aside Salford Red Devils in a 52-8 success. The Vikings had eight different scorers, with Frank Sargent scoring twice.
Tom Holmes scored a brace whilst Doncaster defeated the Batley Bulldogs. The victory saw the Dons reduce the gap to Barrow by two points.
Again, Saturday followed similar suit to Friday with both games going in favour of the home side.
Goole raced into a 14-0 lead in the first half, however, Dewsbury fought back and took a 24-22 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
Three minutes from time, Jack Coventry scored the match winner, as the Vikings held on to a 28-24 lead.
A strong first half performance from Newcastle Thunder decided their contest against Swinton.
Andy Djeukessi, two tries from Will Roberts and a score from King Vuniyayawa gave the North East side a 22-0 lead at the break.
Three more Thunder tries were followed by two consolation scores from Swinton.
London Broncos continued their impressive showing in the Betfred Championship with a 78-16 away win at Midlands.
Gairo Voro scored a hat-trick in the Broncos’ 14 try rout.
Another side who putting on a strong attacking display was Sheffield Eagles, who beat Rochdale Hornets 56-6.
The Eagles ran in 10 tries, saving the best till last as Billy Walkley finished off an outstanding team move.
Jake Carter scored four tries, as Workington Town went on to defeat Keighley Cougars 36-24.
Oldham edged out Barrow Raiders in an entertaining clash at Boundary Park.
In a contest which saw both sides lead, three tries in the final 18 minutes provided enough for the Roughyed’s with Bailey Liu, Luke Forber and Josh Drinkwater scoring the crucial tries.
Whitehaven looked to have their match away at Hunslet wrapped up, with an 18-0 lead after 60 minutes.
However, three tries from Hunslet saw them get within two points, but it was Whitehaven who left with the two points.
